The RUGGED Hillcrest Youth Valentine Dinner and Dance was a smashing success. Everyone really enjoyed the evening.

Next Sunday, February 26, there will be a dinner immediately after the morning service. Wendell and Maxine plan to serve ham, potato salad, green beans and corn. Ms. Bert will also bring desserts. Meals are $10 each and all proceeds go to the building fund.

Our fundraising dinner in March will be a fish fry. Please see Jane for tickets to pre-sell to friend and family. Each ticket is only $7 and the meal includes fish, grits, beans and hushpuppies. The fish fry will be on March 17 from 11am until 4pm. All proceeds go to the building fund.

If you are interested in learning how to quilt using contemporary quick methods so that you can join in giving quilts to hurting people in the name of Jesus, please come to an Orientation Meeting, Monday night, Feb. 27 at 7:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of First Baptist Church of Palatka.  The seminar will run every Monday from March 12-April 16 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.  If you have any questions please call 649-0872.

Emily Smith is going to start a class on Wednesday evenings for the children age 12 and under. 

This Wednesday evening is our monthly business meeting.

They will also take photos for $2 each.  If anyone has Valentine decorations to donate, drop them off to Wendy here at the school Monday through Friday from 8-2. Come enjoy the evening and  support our youth.

Saturday evening, February 18, we will be showing the movie, “Courageous”.  Please invite friends and neighbors. You will want everyone you know to see this great story.

On Saturday February 11th, the Palatka Christian Service Center will celebrate 20 years of service with an open house from 10am until 2pm at their Heart of Putnam Building, 820 Reid Street. 

The next building fund dinner is scheduled for February 26. Wendell and Maxine have something delicious planned.

The Gallery at the Larimer Arts Center will have a grand opening for Jane Mason’s art on January 13 from 5:30-7:30pm. She would love everyone to attend.

The movie this month is Soul Surfer. Soul Surfer is the incredible story of teen surfer Bethany Hamilton, who lost her arm in a shark attack and courageously overcame all odds, through determination and faith to become a champion again. The date was changed to Saturday night, 1/21/12 at 6:30pm.  Come see an encouraging portrayal of family values!

Hillcrest raised $1191 for our Lottie Moon Christmas offering! Thanks to all who contributed.

Plan on staying here for lunch instead of going to a restaurant. All the proceeds will go into our building fund.  There is a sign up sheet today so Pastor Willie will know how much food to prepare.

Men’s Fellowship meeting will be on Tuesday evening at 6:30.  All men are welcome.

The School Board meets on Thursday evening at 6:30.   

Special Christmas Day service schedule today. Only the 11:00 AM service will be held, no Sunday School or evening worship services.

The Christmas Cantata will be presented this morning. The choir hopes to glorify God with the music and storyline in presenting "The Most Wonderful Time of the Year".

Please remember to bring non perishable items for our Christmas food baskets. 

Our Christmas party is planned for this Wednesday at 6:30pm. We plan to have finger foods and a white elephant gift exchange. Bring something funny, weird or nice to give.

On Christmas Eve the church will host a candlelight Lord’s Supper worship service at 6:30pm.

We will have services Christmas morning.

For New Year’s Eve, we are planning our traditional Hobo Stew. Everyone is welcome to come at 6:30 and bring a can of your favorite vegetables for the stew.
